O PROJEKCIE/ABOUT PROJECT

The project is devoted to KEY COMPETENCES (understood as basic skills) of people active on the labour market.
Partner organisations focus on COMMUNICATION, IDENTIFICATION AND ANALYSIS OF TRAINING NEEDS AS FOR BASIC SKILLS AMONG WORKERS.

As the Council of Europe communication for a “European strategy for smart growth by 2020″ states in 2010, 80 million adults have low level of qualifications in Europe. This is corroborated by International studies such as the ALL (Adult Literacy and Lifeskills) – a broad survey which demonstrated that too many adults possess too low level of basic skills so as to „satisfy current daily life necessities and work in an Information and Knowledge Society”, as one definition of what basic skills are.
Partners underlined three key areas in which action must be undertaken to find ways of encouraging employees to training: 1) identification of training needs concerning basic skills of workers, 2) evaluation of the level of these skills as well as communication and 3) promotion of trainings among employees.
The aims of the project are therefore the following:
– common understanding of the issue of key competences/basic skills,
– analysis of the problem of identification of needs concerning employees’ skills,

– exchanging practices and common search for innovative and effective solutions to manage training activities in order to better meet the needs and expectations regarding the basic skills from the perspective of workers, trainers and employers.
